💵Billing & Licensing
Please see other resources for information on your specific licence model and costs.
Billing portal access can be given to resellers and end customers at the discretion of the Tier 1 partner.
The Archive billing portal provides information on 3 key billing/usage metrics that can be used as billing levers.
All information in the billing portal is shown based on completed calendar months and can be accessed via our billing API.
An active user is defined as: "A linked mailbox which sent over 20 emails and received over 20 emails in a calendar month."
Figures are given for the the most recent completed calendar month and the % change since the previous month.
Licensing on a per active user model can make it easier to estimate end customer costs and aligns more readily with pricing models of competing products and other cloud software subscriptions.
However, some organisations have a very large quantity of archived data per user, so this model may not lead to close alignment between cost of delivery and licence revenue.
The number of licences purchased by the reseller or end customer is shown. This is set by their supplier.
An alert icon will be present if the active users exceeds the amount of licenses purchased. This is a great up-sell opportunity.
Infinite licences can be assigned if this model is not in use.
Licensing using pre-committed licenced users is the simplest model, and provides predictability for both reseller and customer.
However, it can lead to customers being over-licenced, prompting them to question value.
Archived data is defined as: "The data received by the archive in gigabytes"
Values are shown for both the total amount of archived data and the amount archived in the most recent calendar month.
Licensing based on archived data directly aligns a T1 partner's cost of delivery (storage) with revenue.
However, few competing products are licenced in this manner, and end customer organisations may struggle to estimate their archive size and rate of growth.
